19th Century French Bronze Tazza Dish by Ferdinand Barbedienne

About the Item

A Roman-classical style decorative bowl, cast in bronze, brown patinated finish. This antique coupe is signed by Ferdinand Barbedienne (France, 1810-1892). In the center a depiction of horse riders from the classical Roman era. The bottom is also richly decorated and features fine scrolls and heads of the god Bacchus. Made in France, 1870-1880. Dimensions: 12 x 47 x 30 cm (H x W x D). Weight: 5 kg. Ferdinand Barbedienne was a highly important bronze founder and one of the most important French artists at the end of the 19th century.
