Christopher Dresser Attributed Aesthetic Movement Terracotta Bowl

About the Item

A very stylish aesthetic movement terracotta bowl with slip applied floral designs in the manner of Watcombe and design attributed to Christopher Dresser dating from around 1880. This very finely made bowl stands raised on a narrow rounded foot with a wide squat rounded body and raised open top. The bowl combines light and darker terracotta clays and is unglazed and has a stylized colored slip floral and foliage design to the body. The bowl has remnants of a black makers mark to the base but too indistinct to identify. In good original condition.
