Large Antique Italian Faience Centrepiece Bowl

About the Item

This very large and very colorful Italian Majolica centrepiece bowl was made between 1900 and 1920 in the Renaissance Revival style. The sides show hand painted blue peacocks surrounded by flowers and foliage in extremely vivid colors. The handles on either end are grotesque figural male heads with curled rams like horns atop of each, and faces with piercing eyes, and open mouths with their tongues sticking out and in the style of Roman satyrs. Please note the posted size as this is a substantial and unique piece of Italian ceramics.
