1930s Art Deco Flapper Ballerina Porcelain Powder Box
About the Item
For your consideration is this very attractive and totally original 1930s Art Deco ladies powder/ trinket box. Made from porcelain with a white pearled finish and gold tone gilding to the edges. The top half of the container is in the form of a 1930s flapper girl with her black bob haircut and cherry red lipstick and black eyeliner she's been very skillfully painted. Her bodice has faded and would of once been green which you can still see faint hints of, the reality is this doesn't detract at all in fact we think it looks rather charming. She has moulded numbers underneath her skirt and is most likely German in origin. She's free from any damage, there are no chips or cracks. This is a lovely piece either for the collector or for someone with discerning taste with multiple applications aside from it's original intent.
