Art Deco Patinated Bronze Sculpture of a "Dancer" by Gerda Gerdago

About the Item

This beautiful bronze Art Deco sculpture was created in the 1920s during the height of the Deco period by the sculptor Gerda Gerdago (1906-2004). Gerdas career began as a costume designer for theatrical productions and then took those designs into sculpture. Here we have a female dancer dressed in a very geometric costume performing with cymbals.     This stylish Austrain Art Deco sculputre of a dancer dates to the 1930s and its movement captures the energy of the time and was created by Stefan Dakon. Note: Overall the item measures 11 3/4" height x 5 1/2" wide x 3 1/4" depth. Note: The base measures 3 1/8 inch diameter x 2 3/8" height. Note: The bronze figure itself measures 9 1/16" height. Note: There are some inclusion spots on the alabaster (see images). FYI: "Stefan Dakon (1904–1992) was an Austrian artist worked in close association with Josef Lorenzl, producing many exciting bronze figurine sculptures of the Art Deco period.
