Artist statement:
I have always been comfortable working with clay at the wheel but have never had the discipline for functional work. My forms, while rooted in function, are meant to be objects that both occupy a defined space but more importantly relate to their surroundings. Process, formal issues of interior and exterior space, scale and texture drive most of my creative choices and I want each piece to reflect all of the individual decisions made to create it.
