Large Flat Serving Bowl, Hand Carved Exterior In Off-White Glaze, Ceramic
About the Item
Large, wide and low ceramic stoneware serving bowl or center piece. Measures: 13.5 inches in diameter.
Straight walls, random, notched hand carved markings on the exterior with rich creamy white glaze on the interior. The brown stoneware clay shows through the carvings adding contrast and depth to the design. Fully handmade. Each one is different and unique. A beautiful statement piece for the table, it has a sculptural presence whether you leave it empty or fill it with fruit. A favorite wedding gift.
Signed with artist's signature and signature chop on the bottom.
This is strictly a serving vessel, not recommended for cooking.

Helena Starcevic Ceramics
Helena Starcevic Ceramics produces work that straddles the line between fine and decorative art. Each piece is one of a kind, hand-built entirely by the artist in her New York studio. Taking inspiration from the natural world, Ms. Starcevic's work includes references to the stark beauty of the desert, prehistoric cave paintings, and the human form (within and without). Everything is filtered through Ms. Starcevic’s own singular aesthetic, at once quiet yet strong, meditative, and beautiful. Pieces are made in different clays and finishes, and at different scales. Groupings are available. Helena Starcevic’s ceramic pieces are held in private collections across the US and Europe. She has held numerous residencies including one at the Museum of Art and Design in New York City.
Clients can choose from a light or dark clay body, glazed or unglazed exteriors, and carvings. Since it is completely hand made, each one will be unique with slight variations in carving, size and color. Call me to discuss!
