Mexican Blue Ceramic Water Pitcher Rustic Modern Clay Pottery

About the Item

This beautiful rustic pottery pitcher is made by Rolando Regino Porras, son of famous Mexican potter Dolores Porras, in Santa Maria Atzompa, in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. Dolores made a great innovation by converting a utilitarian object at that time (1950s) and showcasing it for it to be a decorative piece. Now artist, Rolando Regino takes his mother's teachings and goes back in time, to make this decorative object utilitarian as well. With lead free enamels, Rolando creates a trusting usage of his pieces and takes back the usage of the pieces for everyday life. This dynamic pitcher can be grabbed with both handles, eliminating the need to turn the pitcher to serve. Two people can pass along the pitcher without hassle and interact in a friendly manner in which the design creates harmony with its users. A comic approach to the everyday.
