Rare Mason's Ironstone Miniature Cup Japan Basket Pattern, circa 1825

About the Item

This is a miniature Mason's ironstone cup in the Japan basket pattern which we date to circa 1825. Miniature or toy items of Masons ironstone are rare and hard to find today. This is a very attractive cup with a flared rim on a pedestal base and a nice twisted loop handle. The pattern is the "Japan Basket" which is a well known Mason's chinoiserie pattern, beautifully hand painted in bold enamels of cobalt blues and burnt orange with a soft gilt handle. The inner rim also has a matching border pattern of floral sprigs. The base has the printed round crown mark in black with Mason's above it, dating this item to circa 1825. Free global Shipping.
