Longchamp French Majolica Sienna Earthenware Basketweave & Shell Oyster Plate

About the Item

A French majolica glazed oyster plate from the faïence factory of Longchamp, circa 1930-1950. Six scallop shell shaped wells against a basket weave ground in a rich Sienna glazing. The raised centre condiment well and the rim are molded as a brown roping. The glaze pools beautifully into this dimensional mold. Stamped: The longchamp crest, France 9.5 in. diameter x 1.0 in. height. Excellent condition.
