Contemporary porcelain tea service from the SoShiro Ainu collection
About the Item
An all-in-one white porcelain service ware set from SoShiro’s Ainu collection, a collaboration between award-winning artist Toru Kaizawa and Shiro Muchiri, is a sophisticated and artistic take on a tea service. This versatile platter has three incorporated dishes for serving biscuits, jam, and tea or for serving a snack such as fruit, olives, crackers, and spreads. It is accompanied by two jars with lids that also serve as cups.
This ceramic piece is cast and hand-finished in the Veneto region of Italy, renowned for its rich heritage in ceramics. The white glazed ceramic with a Blakiston’s fish owl eyes motif was designed by celebrated Ainu artist Mamoru Kaizawa. The Blakinston’s fish owl, a symbol of protection for the Ainu people, brings to our living spaces the epic story of their community.
The Ainu collection celebrates the artistry of the indigenous Ainu people of the Japanese archipelago and their sacred relationship to forests and nature.
