Fornasetti Limited Edition White Porcelain, Black and Gold Printed Plates 1970s

About the Item

These two splendid vintage round plates in white porcelain with black and gold decorations are an authentic piece of Italian history. They are a part of a limited edition born from the collaboration of the Milanese artist Piero Fornasetti with the historic Turin-based liquor company, Martini and Rossi in 1970s. The decorations on these Mid-Century Modern plates are inspired by some of the most important vases, goblets and containers displayed in the collection of the Martini museum in Pessione near Turin, Italy. Combined with the elegant black decorations on a white background, there is a text in Italian all written with golden letters describing the characteristics and use of the vase or object represented on the plate as it was in antiquity. The decorations are very rich but at the same time refined and recall the neoclassical taste and the clean lines of ancient Rome. The back is centered by the outline of a champagne glass made of gold finish, at the bottom a scroll with the name of the object depicted and an inscription describing the collaboration between Fornasetti and the Martini Museum in addition to the stamp "Fornasetti Milano Made in Italy". These plate are the perfect centerpiece in any room, place them on a console table or on the fireplace to give a touch of class to your home. They will also make the most of them displayed in a display cabinet or hung on the wall. These decorative plates are in excellent condition, both structural and decorative. The designs have no signs of wear and the gold is still very bright. No chipping or repairs. They can be sold separately. Measures: Diameter 23 cm.
