Large Antique Royal Vienna Hand Painted Cabinet Plate or Charger

About the Item

A fine antique Royal Vienna porcelain charger. Hand painted with a mythological scene including a spinner or weaver, a man with a bear skin cloak, and Cupid. We're not sure of the allegory (but clearly this relates to ancient mythology). Richly decorated with gilding and raised gold throughout, a burgundy ground, and a lime green border. Simply top level porcelain! Date: 19th century Overall condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. There is noticeable wear to the gold throughout (in particular to the high points), some scratches and wear to the hand painted decoration, one small ding or imperfection below Cupid's bow, remnants of old tape to the reverse, some very fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age Maker: Royal Vienna Marks: Blue beehive mark to the reverse and an impressed number 2. Measurements: Diameter: ca. 13 in. Height: ca. 1 1/2 in. Items purchased from this dealer must delight you. Purchases may be returned for any reason for a period of 7 days.
