Rosenthal Germany rarest female Art Nouveau Figurine: LO Hesse Manufactory: Bahnhof Selb (Art Department) / Bavaria / Rosenthal Germany Dating: manufactured circa 1923 (= quite early !) Material and technique: porcelain / chinaware / painted / glazed (glossy finish) Design: Constantin Holzer-Defanti (1881-1951) This model was designed in the year 1923. C.Holzer-Defanti was an Austrian sculptor or he worked on behalf of Rosenthal manufactory in the period of 1918-1927: He was specialized in figurines, especially in dancers. Model 53a designed in year 1923 at the Plössberg factory. A handsome lady dancer called 'LO Hesse', wearing a long dancing skirt as well as a sleeveless shirt stands upright or the skirt is decorated with golden painted small patterns or the lady holds her left arm above her head or the female dancer is supported by eight-sided base with golden painted edge. Hallmarked: Rosenthal green mark / Bahnhof Selb with rose blossoms and crown: Underglazed / mark type of circa 1923 / first quality Model number 53 a Size: Height (base included) 26.0 cm (= 10.23 inches) Diameter of base 9.0 cm (= 3.54 inches) Condition: excellent (there aren't any damages existing).
