Art Nouveau Glass Carafe With Silver Fitting, by Wilhelm Binder, Germany

About the Item

Carafe made of clear glass with a conical body, the inside six-pointed wave-shaped thickened wall, cut near the base with star and beam decoration, ground star, silver fitting with wreath and bow decoration, meander ribbon and stylized consoles, J-shaped, slightly raised handle, covered beak-shaped spout, hinged stepped vaulted lid in the middle over the vessel opening, pine cone as a thumb rest. Internal gilding. Dimensions: height: 28.5 cm / 11.22 in width: 15.0 cm / 5.90 in depth: 12.0 cm / 4.72 in Hallmarks: Crescent + Crown - German official hallmark from 1888 800 - fineness 'W'-HAMMER-'B' - Master's sign WILHELM BINDER, Silver goods factory, Schwäbisch Gmünd, established 1869 Condition: very well maintained, silver cleaned and polished, glass completely intact.
