Set of 3 Chinese Silver Centerpiece Bowls with Floral Piercing by Nanking
About the Item
Set of 3 beautiful Chinese silver baskets designed with pierced floral pattern on surface and waved rim, weaved and looped handle, standing on base by Chinese maker Nanking. One large basket measuring 9 inches long and 7 1/2 inches tall with handle up. Two medium baskets measuring 7 1/2 inches long and 6 inches tall. Weighing 28.1 troy ounces. Bearing hallmarks as shown.
These bowls were made most likely for export to Europe and is a testimony to the historical entanglements between China and Europe in the late 19th/early 20th centuries.
