English Bakelite and Engraved Silver Dessert Flatware Cased Set, Service for 12

About
A service for 12, cream colored English Bakelite, knobbed handled, silver-plate, dessert sized flatware set in the original box, circa 1920s. This unusual handled twenty-four-piece set has 12 each, forks and knives, in the original two-tiered felt lined wooden box. The blades of the knives show intricate floral engraving and they are marked with Sheffield English hallmarks. The forks also have floral engraving. The silver plate utensils are joined to the handles with Art Deco style ferrules. Knives: 8.5 in.L x .75 in.W x .25 in.H Forks: 7 in.L x .75 in.W x .25 in.H Box: 11.5 in. Sq. x 2 in.H The utensils are in very good vintage condition, a few handles showing the expected age lines. The blades and tines are all in excellent condition. All of the collars fit tightly into the handles, no wobbling. The handles test positive for Bakelite. A brass plate for engraving is on the lid of the box, the lid is warped and does not close fully, the key is missing. The interior is in very good condition.Details
