An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver straight King's pattern flatware service for 12 persons made by Mary Chawner; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection. The pieces of this exceptional, antique Victorian straight, sterling silver canteen of cutlery for 12 persons have been crafted in King's pattern. The reverse of each spoon and fork features a union shell and diamond heel in addition to convex shell ornamentation to the terminal. The anterior surface of each piece bears the contemporary bright cut engraved initials 'GM' below a coronet. This Kings pattern canteen of cutlery consists of 62 pieces: Basic service: 12 table forks 12 table spoons 12 dessert forks 12 dessert spoons 12 teaspoons Additional pieces: Pair of sauce ladles The components of this antique Victorian service have been crafted by the renowned London female silversmith Mary Chawner in 1837. This flatware service can be purchased with King's pattern knives if so desired. This exceptional sterling silver English cutlery set is fitted to the original oakwood lift up lid canteen box with lift out tray; due to the loss of the six dessert knives and sifter ladle, the box has vacant and versatile storage compartments.
