Edwards was inspired by Japanese Sumi and Abstract Expressionist painters and this bowl exemplifies this. Edwards was a student of Peter Voulkos at Otis. He also studied under Marguerite Wildenhain and Shoji Hamada. This hefty and solid bowl is signed by Edwards on the base.
