About
Antique Native American Pictorial jacket style beaded shirt with tie closures, Apache (Plains Indian). Late 19th to early 20th century, circa 1890-1910, this shirt is constructed of native tanned hide and partially beaded in glass trade beads. Pictorial elements include eagles, arrows, crosses, Morningstar and geometric elements. Fringed along collar, arms, cuffs and bottom with beadwork throughout.
Overall dimensions as displayed measure 40 ½ x 34 ½ x 9 ¼ inches.
Shirt measures: 28 ½ x 34 ½ inches.
The Apache, a nomadic tribe, followed the Buffalo and ranged across the American Southwest including areas of Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and Southern Colorado.
