Large Italian 1960s "Tornado" Ceiling Light by Elio Martinelli
About the Item
A large model 1770 "Tornado" ceiling light by Elio Martinelli for Martinelli Luce.
This light is comprised of interlocking steel bands which join a central stem in a gracefully geometric configuration. It emits beautifully dispersed light.
The braided flex is two meters long but it can be shortened to hang from lower ceilings.
It is in excellent structural condition. The metal has some very minor paint loss in keeping with age.
Italian designer Elio Martinelli created exceptional lamps such as the Cobra and Serpente. The Tornado is one of his rarer ceiling lights.
