About the Item
Art Deco floor lamp by Kaspar & Sic Kunstgewerbe Werkstätte für Metallarbeiten, Vienna, 1932 from nickel plated brass, a white wooden handle and an original lamp shade. For a safe and secure stability it shows a metal base.
The original lamp shade features paper decorated with dried flowers and herbs and covered with plastic.
A green bakelite button embellishes the handle. The lamp shade shows signs of age and use.
The stem is extendable from up to down 135 cm to 172 cm.
The telescope arm is extendable from 81 cm to 104 cm.

This model of floor lamp was used in the Vienna Werkbund estate
( Werkbundsiedlung ) for the house number 63.
The architect from this house was Arthur Grünberger.
Responsible for the interior was BEST ( Beratungsstelle für Inneneinrichtung des Österreichischen Verbandes für Wohnungsreform ) under the leadership of Ernst Lichtblau.
The Vienna estate ( Werkbundsiedlung ) was a project with leader Josef Frank, who projected and built 70 flats with the most popular architects of the 1930s, e.g. Julius Jirasek, Josef Frank, Walter Sobotka, Josef Hoffmann, Oskar Strnad to name just a few.
