About the Item

An extraordinarily fine and rare French art glass table lamp shade. The shade is constructed of molded and frosted glass in the form of a floral and fruit bouquet and supported by a nickel-plated bronze base. It was made by the French Art Deco glass house of Genet et Michon, who collaborated with designers like Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann and Paul Follot and were competitors of Lalique. The company was particularly well known for their exceptionally high quality lighting. Marked to the base of the shade in raised letters GENET ET MICHON and MADE IN FRANCE. Simply exceptional Art Deco period design! Date: Early 20th century Overall condition: It is in overall very good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Condition Details: There is some rubbing, wear, and scratches to the base. There are some very fine and light surface scratches here and there, a few small spots of persistent staining to the glass top, and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. The piece shade does not have any electrical components. Measurements: Height ca. 10 1/2 in. Diameter ca. 7 in. Items purchased from this dealer must delight you.
