Oversized Baroque style sunburst mirror with triple layered foliage frame. France, 1930s-1940s
Rare find.
Massive 100 cm diameter (39.3 in) Baroque style hand-hammered iron leafed sunburst backlit mirror with floral decorations
This outstanding and heavily adorned mirror has three tiers of leaves in different sizes and shapes combining Acanthus leaves with lobate shaped and smaller leaves. Surrounding the glass there is a tier of small flowers.
The mirror can be displayed also as a backlit mirror. It could provide a charming lighting ambiance using a dimmer to regulate the intensity of light as shown at the images.
It has a beautiful aged patina with its original gold leaf gilded finishing.
Newly wired with 6 E14 bulbs.
