Sotheby's: The T. Y. Chao Private and Family Trust Collections of Important Chinese Ceramics and Jade Carvings: Part 1, Hong Kong October 1986. Rare First Edition hardcover with dust jacket. One of the world's most impressive private collections of Chinese jade and ceramics - formed over a 40-year period by Tsao Yee Chao, chairman of the Wah Kwong Shipping and Investment Company - was sold in Hong Kong by Sotheby's in a two-session auction in November. The salewas held to aid in restructuring the $855 million debt of the financially troubled shipping group, which was Hong Kong's third largest ship owner with a fleet of 60 vessels.
