About the Item

Maharam throw Wool check by Paul Smith 001 Birch A natural extension of Maharam’s work with textiles, wool check throw was developed based on a woven upholstery designed by Paul Smith in collaboration with the Maharam Design Studio. A study of expansive color blocking within a pure wool construction, wool check undergoes an intricate finishing process in its transformation to a lofty, felted surface. Woven in the United Kingdom, each throw includes approximately three-inch fringe at two ends. Founded in 1902, Maharam offers a comprehensive collection of textiles for commercial and residential interiors. Maharam pillows feature celebrated textile designs from the 20th and 21st centuries, from re-editions of the work of Charles and Ray Eames, Alexander Girard and Verner Panton to recent collaborations with Hella Jongerius, Paul Smith, Scholten & Baijings, and Studio Job. Paul Smith (b. 1946, United Kingdom) is a British fashion designer of men’s- and womenswear. His trademark designs combine a flair for eccentric detail with a dedication to the highest standards of craftsmanship. Smith began his career as a teenager working in a local clothing warehouse. In 1976, six years after opening his first shop outside of London, he showcased his first official collection in Paris. The Paul Smith label now produces collections sold in over 70 countries worldwide. 100% wool. Dry clean only.
