Art Deco Bar Cabinet in Solid Oak and Coromandel, 1930s
About the Item
Very well preserved Art Deco bar cabinet from the late 1920s. This high cabinet has a lot of typical details from the Dutch Amsterdamse School Period, that was predominantly an architectural influence in that period. Lot's of houses here in Amsterdam have been built according to that style that blends in very well with the older architecture. The shape and graceful details are very well visible in this piece. It's kind of stately but graceful at the same time. The details such as the wooden stripes on the front but also the three water drops at the top, have been made out of Coromandel, a very rare dark hardwood that came from Indonesia. The Coromandel contrasts very well with the matured oak. The sideboard is still in a very good condition and also the top is still good. Perfect for your whisky's, grappa's or cognac but also very well suitable to serve as a counter, a DJ-booth or just as a regular sideboard. This style of Art Deco mixes very well with Mid-Century Modern pieces especially if you are looking for pieces that have a bit more depth and style of making, all by hand. The way it was made is with so much craftsmanship and all the wood, mainly oak, is solid. It also balances very well against the veneer that was used so often after the 1940s. Its a bit more serious piece (and quite heavy too!).
The height of the top is 100 cm and there is also a similar one available.

- Italian Art Deco Bar Cabinet in Parchment with Inlays Signed by Anzani, 1930sBy Giuseppe AnzaniLocated in Meda, MBThis bar cabinet was produced in Italy, in the late 1930s and is a really unique and special piece. Its tremendous historical and artistic value is what makes this item a real piece of art, hard to find and one of a kind. Firstly, let's talk about its history. It was produced most likely in 1939 in Mariano Comense which is a small village near Milan by the artist Giuseppe Anzani. Anzani has been one of the greatest, if not the greatest wood crafter and inlaid maker. He started his career as an engraver when he was a little child and he won awards for his skills when he was only 16. Later on, he started also to master the art of wood inlay, becoming the most skilled inlayer of all times. His fame was so big that people from all over the world used to come to his little laboratory in the small and unknown village...Category

- Art Deco Dry Bar Cabinet with Gold Leaf Doors, circa 1930s, RestoredBy Émile-Jacques RuhlmannLocated in Los Angeles, CAThis restored art deco cabinet features gold leaf double doors, trim and base detailing with lacquered burgundy exterior. Ideal for use as a dry bar for holding liquor and glassware or as an apothecary cabinet. Beautiful lacquered burgundy with gold leaf details, the interior is fitted with glassware shelves and a single pull out shelf. Working key is present. This circa 1930s restored storage cabinet in manner of Emile Jacques Ruhlmann would work great in an Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, Post-Modern or Mid-Century Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary, Space Age Mod, Scandanavian Modern, Danish Modern or Zen / Minimalist room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Transitional, or Classical room with a splash of juxtaposition. Would also be an apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Consider using as a dry bar, curio cabinet, towel and linen highboy, sideboard or cupboard for your kitchen or dining room, vitrine or entryway closet...Category
