About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning French Empire, circa 1860 solid mahogany chest of drawers with marble top and gold leaf painted lion hairy paw feet A very good looking well made and decorative piece of furniture. The timber patina is rich and looks good in any light, the marble top is a good colour and adds a sense of grandeur to the piece as was so common in fine French furniture The lion hairy paw feet are gold leaf and painted and the handles are regency design lions heads We have cleaned waxed and polished the desk from top to bottom, it has some light patina marks here and there based on honest age and fair use, the side panels have ripples in the veneer Dimensions: Height 88.5 cm Width 115.5 cm Depth 58 cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
