MCM Jack Cartwright for Founders Furniture Patterns 10 Walnut Chest of Drawers

Amazing Mid-Century Modern trio of square walnut cube stools number 42102-01 with black faux leather upholstered tops by Jack Cartwright for Founders Furniture’s Patterns 7 line. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. One seat cushion has a repair to its underside, one stool has a scratch to one side, and another stool has a repair to one corner. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Mid-20th Century. Propriotor’s note: Although these stools are not marked with a maker’s name, they are stamped inside with the number 42102-01. My 30-year experience in the vintage furniture business lead me to believe they were Founder’s Furniture and with the help of a great FB Group I was able to find this number, without the -01, in one of their catalogs for Patterns 7 designed by Jack Cartwright. It is the number for a fabulous Founder’s Furniture cube side table which looks exactly like these stools apart from the padded removable seats and the measurements are the same. My feeling, as well as some of the experts, that these were a factory special order or undocumented offering using the existing side table as the base and adding the cushion. However, I cannot document that thought. They could have been something someone did themselves, but I do not think that as they are too factory-made in my opinion. What a terriffic trio!!!! Triple your pleasure with this outstanding trio of square walnut cube stools designed by Jack Cartwright for Founders Furniture Patterns 7 line!! They are FABUOLUS!! The tops are comprised of black faux leather and the back of the tops have silver snaps that snap on and off of the top of the cube, it’s nice for cleaning purposes. Also, you can see in the photos that the underneath of the tops is a bit different… one has full faux leather upholstery, and a small repair has been made. The other two have fabric backs. It’s the way we obtained them, and you can’t see that when the tops are snapped on. They are hollow in the center and would obviously make handy foot stools however, we are more inclined to see them used as extra seating. You could use all 3 together as a bench or fireside stools...

Stunning vintage mid-century modern lingerie chest by Glenn of California. Comprised of rosewood, aluminum strip, and black painted sides. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. Black paint has been touched up on corners & top was sanded and Danish oil applied. This is a stunning vintage mid-century modern lingerie chest designed by Glenn of California. It is comprised of GORGEOUS rosewood top and drawer fronts bordered by an aluminum strip, grooved handle pulls on the sides of the drawers, cased with black painted sides. It has eight drawers that graduate in size from smaller at the top to larger at the bottom. Maybe you don’t have lingerie?? No worries!! Although it is called a lingerie chest you could certainly use it as a tall, narrow dresser in your bedroom or dressing area. It would be a lovely cabinet to use in a study, office, hall, or entry for linens, books, office supplies, or anything you want to stow away in a phenomenal piece of mid-century modern excellence. Glenn of California was owned by father and son team Isaac and Robert Baron and based in Arcadia California and has been credited for being at the forefront of the West Coast modernist design movement in the 1940’s and 1950’s. The company made a name for itself when it hired Milo Baughman. They would go on to hire Swedish architect and designer Greta Magnusson-Grossman, the first woman to receive an award from the Swedish Society of Industrial Design. The significant furniture line she and Baughman designed called the California Modern Collection became known for its laid-back Los Angeles style and integration of walnut, iron, and Formica. Glenn of California collaborated with many notable designers including Kipp Stweart, Paul Laslo, John Kapel, & Stanley Young. Handsome pair of chests from American of Martinsville and Merton Gershun’s Accord line of furniture with the signature X’s and asymmetric handles. One is the long walnut dresser with three drawers and cane doors and the second is the three-drawer bachelor’s chest. Two separate pieces but butted together make one long marvelous piece. We are pricing them as a set. Both are in wonderful restored condition. However, they are not without signs of age and use having an overall beautiful age patina which includes small nicks, scratches, and imperfections but nothing major. Note the metal signature crosses in their tops and their fabulous asymmetric or staggered handles. These gorgeous chests are from the Accord collection produced in the mid-20th century by American of Martinsville and designed by Merton Gershun. One piece is the longer dresser which is comprised of a bank of three drawers next to three doors with cane inserts. One door opens to the left and the other two doors bi-fold open to the right revealing three interior drawers. This dresser alone is wonderful but paired with the matching bachelor’s chest, which has the same bank of three drawers as the dresser, and butted next to the doors, making it one extra long cabinet...

Spectacular vintage Mid-Century Modern dresser, credenza, buffet, or sideboard Lane Furniture Tower Suite Collection comprised of walnut, rosewood and chrome details, hardware, & door fronts, 9 drawers, and a black painted plinth base. The top has been refinished and a coat of poly applied; the rest of body has been cleaned and Danish oiled; and the black plinth base has a fresh coat of black paint. It is comprised of a stunning walnut frame, 9 drawers total, and a black painted plinth base.
