"Douglas" Turned Leg Stereo HiFi Cabinet / Credenza - Mid-Century Modern WALNUT
About the Item
The Turned Leg Douglas Stereo Cabinet is functionally the same as the original Douglas cabinet but with a classic turned leg. It's been meticulously designed to be the perfect home for stereo components, records, and any other entertainment device/media. It's an original design inspired by my love for mid century modern, simplicity, and music. It's built from beautiful black walnut and finished with hand-rubbed Danish oil.
The fabric panels on each end pop out with a gentle push to one edge and provide the ideal way to dress out your speakers. The shelves are adjustable so that their placement can be customized for your components. The back of the cabinet is vented with a series of 2" holes, and there are holes/cut outs in all partitions and shelves to allow for passage of cords.
The two doors slide effortlessly, and are easily removed if you prefer to leave all components exposed.
The cabinet is 61.75" long, 20" deep and 30" tall. The speaker openings are 10" wide and 18" tall, and the center openings are 19.125" wide and 16" tall. The size can be customized, and the fabric panels are optional if you prefer to show off your speakers or use that space for something else. I can also use any other fabric besides what is shown here.
Each piece that comes out of my shop is built by me or one of the members of my shop and is built to last forever. Lead times are always changing. Rush orders are usually a possibility.

Pete Deeble Furniture
PETE DEEBLE FURNITURE I began building things with my dad as a kid, fashioning my own cases for records and instruments and other such wares. I also built countless skateboarding ramps with my friends. As long as I can remember I’ve had a proclivity for inventing and creating things, and as such woodworking has always been a natural outlet for that. Sometime around 2007 I began building more serious furniture for me and my wife to enjoy…first a credenza, then a wall unit, then a bed. At this point it became clear that design and craft was a calling that I needed to pursue. I was teaching high school math at the time, so I began to develop furniture design as a side project initially. I put up a blog and began taking orders, and my little side project slowly morphed into a vocation. In June of 2017 I quit teaching to pursue furniture full time, and in September of 2017 I moved into my current studio, which is located in Long Beach, CA. My design sense is highly influenced by Scandinavian furniture from the middle part of the most previous century, which is to say that my aesthetic tends towards modern and minimal, mid century modern, Danish modern, etc. My furniture is generally built from hardwoods such as walnut, cherry, maple, rosewood etc. I work with a small group of highly skilled craftsman who produce alongside me, crafting handmade goods in Long Beach, CA.
The size can be customized as well as the type of wood - Walnut, Oak, Ebonized Oak, Jatoba, Cherry, Birch, Mahogany, Teak ($$), Etc. The fabric panels are optional if you prefer to show off your speakers or use that space for something else. I can also use any other fabric besides what is shown here.
