In 2011 Smith was won the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award for its “productive and constructive ingenuity accompanied by remarkable multi-functionality”.
Jonathan Olivares is an American industrial designer. Born in Boston in 1981 he founded Jonathan Olivares Design Research (JODR) in 2006, a studio that works in industrial, interior and communications design, based in Los Angeles. His projects are known for their unique combination of form and technology. His work with Danese Milano shows an analytical and multidisciplinary approach and his commitment to creating dynamic and practical products that always have a familiar and simple attention to a dynamic and practical use of products that always have a familiar simple aesthetic.
