Louis XV Carved Oak Vitrine, circa 1900
About the Item
This elegant double bodied vitrine pairs solid oak construction with the soft, graceful lines of an arched pediment, rounded front corners, and cabriole legs. The top portion showcases an arched crown with a central carved shell over an arched glass door that reveals two shelves with plate grooves for the option of displaying china or other dishes. The lower portion features a door with beautiful flecking from quartersawn oak with carved flowers, foliage, and ribbon. The lower door opens to a single shelf. Very short cabriole legs with whorl feet at the front and block feet at the back support the vitrine.
