About the Item

Coffee table famous model named "la pagode" by "Dominique" Design house Maison Dominique was founded in 1922 by André Domin (1883-1962) et Marcel Genevrière (1885-1967) and very fast became famous. It participated in famous expositions, such as the International Exposition of Decorative Arts in 1925. In 1926, together with J. Puiforcat, P. Chareau, P. Legrain et the jeweler, R. Templier, they formed the "Group of Five". Seven years later, the General Transatlantic Company ordered the creation of one of the four luxury apartments on its Normandy liner: the Rouen suite. After WWII, the National Furniture department made several orders from them, such as one for the President's residence, the Palais de l'Elysée. This firm continued its activity until 1970.
