Solid wood from the urban forest imbues this round wood coffee table in grey urban oak with a unique grain and texture. A full 48" in diameter provides plenty of surface area. The grey color and expressive grain gives a defined, modern silhouette. This piece works for a residential living room or sitting room. The low sheen urethane finish makes it durable for boutique waiting room, sitting area or executive lounge. With elegant design and clean lines, modern, yet comfortable, each piece is masterfully crafted to delight and endure.
All our products are made from trees from the urban forest, so bits of sapwood, pin knots, and unique grain patterns make each one distinct. Expert craftsmanship means it will last. Alabama Sawyer
At Alabama Sawyer, we design modern, environmentally sustainable products from fallen trees in the Birmingham, Alabama area. Since we began in 2014, we have diverted hundreds of logs from the landfill by transforming them into award-winning furniture and products for homes and businesses. Instead of letting trees waste in a landfill, we gather them from municipalities, businesses and homeowners to give them a second life. Urban wood has character. Urban wood has knots, burls and insect holes. It’s not "perfect" — it’s unique, one-of-kind and stunningly beautiful. The constraints and adaptations of growing in the urban forest creates character. We handle each log individually with an eye for the best cut. Then we mill it to show off its inner beauty. Our wood is better for the environment. Urban forests give us cleaner air and cooler temperatures. A living tree provides great value to the community — so can a repurposed one. Historically, felled city trees are taken to the landfill to decompose. Every year, Americans bury 4 billion board feet of usable hardwood trees in our city landfills. Using urban wood keeps them from releasing carbon back into the atmosphere where it contributes to climate change. Using urban wood in long-lasting furniture doesn't matter unless the design is right. Our furniture won Garden and Gun's overall Made in the South award in 2017.
