Doulton Lambeth Roman Artifact Terracotta Plaque By Joseph Mott

About the Item

A rare and unusual Doulton Lambeth terracotta plaque produced by and for artist Joseph Mott and dating from around 1920. The oval shaped plaque was produced from a casting made of a Roman artifact found at Hadrians Wall and only 50 were produced and then presented as gifts by the artist. The plaque portrays a solider holding a shield and leaning on a club. The plaque has an impressed Royal Doulton mark to the base. Offered in good original condition.
