Group of Three Works on Paper by Jose Luis Cuevas, framed

About the Item

A suite of three ink drawing on paper with writings in Spanish by Mexican artist Jose Luis Cuevas, one of the leading modern artists to break away from the Muralists movement in Mexico. Cuevas is known for a complex and somewhat dark style that reflects human psychology and its social context. Two of the drawings were marked and dated as in Madrid, 1963 and San Francisco, 1971, drawn when the artist was traveling extensively overseas. All framed clockwise measures from left: 9.5 x 13.5; 17 x 21 with frame; the one marked as San Francisco, 12 x 17; 19 x 25 with frame; the one marked as Madrid, 1963, 11.5 x 15; 19 x 23 with frame. 10000 is the price for the whole collection, individual price is 3200, 4000, 3500 respectively.

He is also known for being an advocate against creating art purely for commercial gain.
