19th century German watercolor/gouache of monkeys in a tavern, circa 1845. Unsigned but dated 1845. In the old oak frame with the original glass and papered and sealed verso. A highly detailed interior scene with furnishings and monkeys around a table, smoking, reading the newspaper and playing billiards.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor fading. There preservation of the paper and the work is good. There are no tears or scars. Slight fading from age to the paper (sepia) but the watercolors and gouache are very vivid and reveal a high degree of detail.
