Original Clair Seglem Portrait Painting of Mannequins in Bright Pink
About the Item
A bright and bold modern piece, this painting is a striking example of artist Clair Seglem's love for color. A pair of mannequins seemingly come to life with emotions and feeling on their faces. Captured in hot tones on a bright pink background. The figures sit one in front of the other, one on a table of just the bust, and the other in the foreground. One of the figures wears a blue floppy hat with tears streaming from its cheeks. (Perhaps because they are missing arms and bodies?) The second figure sports a long thin blonde head of hair and is also missing its arms. Because of the pieces monumental size, we think that it would be fabulous framed in acrylic.
This piece is by the late Oklahoma artist and retired Air Force man Clair Seglem. Seglem painted into his 90s before passing at his Oklahoma residence. He was known for his striking portraits and still life paintings.
