California based, Mexican American artist Ricardo Ramirez Rivero explores the realm of pattern and texture in his new series of works. At once ancient and modern in feel, the new works are both painting and sculpture. Ramirez Rivero takes us on a galactic journey through the universe. Stars, orbital spheres, planets and solar rays are all translated into a tactile experience through his use of paper mache, gesso and paint on canvas. Highly decorative, these works are impactful on their own or, spectacularly so, in groupings. Mr. Ramirez Rivero's work has appeared in a number of projects by such acclaimed designers as Damien Langlois Meurinne and Jeff Andrews.
