Vintage Delizza & Elster for Alexis Kirk Rhinestone Belt, 1977

About the Item

Blackened metal with huge prong set black, purple and blue faceted rhinestones with smaller prong set round faux-amethyst belt with hook clasp. The largest setting has a circumference of about 30 inches. Overall measures: 35 inches long. Large section; 3 inches long by 2 15/16 inches wide. Long straight section 1 inch wide. Other jeweled end measures: 1 1/2 inches long by 1 3/4 inches wide. Condition: Very good; minor surface wear. Other pieces from this set are shown on pg. 42 of "Juliana Jewelry the Last Generation" by Paula Knutson & Karla Wacker. The matching necklace is also available for purchase. Delizza and Elster was an American costume jewelry maker that operated from 1947 to 1990. The jewelry sold under their own name was never signed, though they also produced jewelry for other famous makers including Hattie Carnegie, Alexis Kirk, Weiss, Hobe and Kramer. They are known for their glitzy rhinestone jewelry which was worn in operas.
