Rare silk square scarf signed by Raoul Dufy, based on his famous painting ‘Canotage ou Vue sur la Marne’ dated 1935. Silk twill square scarf printed with hand-rolled edges in subtle shades from the artist's graphic palette. The scene depicts a festive esplanade in front of the Town Hall, surrounded by swimmers and boaters on the Marne River. Edition protected by ADAGP, with the words ‘le Canotage’ after Raoul Dufy and the signature in red Raoul Dufy 1935 in the painting. Silk square similar in quality to Hermès squares from the same period. There are two or three tiny spots, barely visible as they are the size of a pinhead. No stains or holes. Good colour and condition. Dimensions: approximately 83 cm x 86 cm.
