Rare Adrian Custom crownless brown circular polished straw hat with chunky three (3) dimensional plaiting, in concept a la Bee Keeper complete with layered, wired protective netting.
Size: 17"

Many people regard and collect hats not only as fashion items but also as pieces of sculpture.
Hats designed by noted Hollywood designer, Gilbert Adrian, are extremely rare. The designer was not enthusiastic about designing hats for sale. He felt it was too much work for too little money. However, the ones he did make are outstanding works of art. He normally made them only to use in his fashion shows and advertisements and occasionally for a major client.
As the greatest of all costume designers for Old Hollywood movies, Adrian understood how to create and add drama through the use of hats.
The hats presented in this collection create a wonderful sense of drama and present a truly outstanding fashion statement and, as such, are a very important and very rare part of Adrian's body of work.
