Large Manila Shawl in Embroidered Silk in Chinese Box China late 19 Century
About the Item
Amazing Extra Large Manila Shawl (Châle dit de Manille)
Made of silk embroidered tone on tone, fringed
Presented in its original wooden box in dark red Chinese lacquer decorated with characters in a garden and friezes of flowers and butterflies
Cardboard interior decorated with characters, painted with gouache
Period: China, late nineteenth century (XIX)
Will come with its key but closure system does not work anymore
Box makes 50,5 x 50,5 x 7,5 cm
Condition: Split wood, lacquer leap on the box, accidents to cardboard, stains on the shawl.
This is an old item, the signs of use are part of its charm! The shawl can be entrusted to a professional for cleaning. Item delivered as is, confers photo.
