About the Item

2009 Rizzoli publication compiled by Adam Lewis, The Great Lady Decorators: The Women Who Defined Interior Design 1870-1955, is a who's who of the most influential designers of the late 19th and early 20th century ... that just happened to be dynamic and extremely talented women. The 288 page book details the work of icons such as Elsie de Wolfe, Ruby Ross Wood (a personal favorite who did the Swan House interiors in Atlanta Georgia), Dorothy Draper, Frances Elkins, Madeleine Castaing and Sister Parish ... just to name a few. Many of the trendsetting techniques of their time are now considered to be classics of modern interior design. Hardbound with linen cover and glossy paper dust jacket.
