1960s Elaborate Beaded Chiffon Gown
Stunning chocolate chiffon gown with an elaborate beaded collar that is done right from the tip of the high collar to under the bodice. Even the sleeves are fully beaded! A wicked design is made of a multitude of metallic beads and sequins, different shapes and sizes and hues all in intricate rows that scoop. The weight of the beading help to subtly give the gown the suggestion of shape through the waist despite it being cut so it falls full from the shoulder. The skirt is marvelous - two bias cut layers of chocolate chiffon over an opaque lining in the same hue. It has a grown up, diva is in the room feel and I love the contrast of the heavily beaded top with the softness and airiness of that chiffon skirt. Wonderful condition!

The dress is fully lined and closes with a back painted metal zipper. It is tagged George Allette and has a size tag that says it is a 14 - please go by the posted measurements. Each sleeve has a hidden zipper on the cuff so it fits snugly around the wrist. Where the zipper is set into the chiffon at the back, a series of fabric covered snaps hold the outer layer of chiffon in pace so its hidden. Zipper is hand set. A quality piece to be sure! It should be dry cleaned when cleaned again in the future.
