1980s Hanae Mori Floral Blouse

About the Item

Vintage 1980s Hanae Mori Floral Blouse: This blouse was made in the 1980s by Hanae Mori, the legendary Japanese designer whose east-meets-west approach to fashion design influenced an entire generation of designers who followed her, and earned her her most loyal client, Princess Grace of Monaco. Mori was a pivotal element of the wave of Japanese avant-garde in late 1970s/early 1980s Paris, along with Yohji Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo’s Comme des Garçons. The organza material, combined with the watercolor floral give this blouse such an ethereal quality. I was immediately drawn to how well it's made, with almost demicouture craftsmanship, including French seams in the lining. The body is fully lined, but the sleeves are somewhat transparent, adding to that dreaminess. It's long enough to tuck in. Measurements: This will fit a range of sizes depending on desired fit; shown here in a size Small, could work for possibly up to a size Large. Chest: up to 41.5" Waist: up to 41.5" Length: 24.25" from shoulder to hem Sleeves: 24" Excellent vintage condition. With any questions about the specific condition or size, please ssend a message for additional photos or measurements, as all sales are final. *IF YOU REQUIRE EXPRESS SHIPPING (domestic or international), please contact me for my best quote! @VERYBREEZY — Follow along on Instagram for exclusive access to new vintage arrivals

Antique Rabari Embroidered Choli Tops
Located in New York, NY
These vintage embroidered choli tops are incredibly rare and special: their ages range from the early to mid 20th Century, and all of them were embroidered by hand by the Rabari people in what is now Northwest India. The Rabari people are an ethnic group, who today reside primarily in northern and central India, and Pakistan. They have long been known for their impressive embroidery, which traditionally is painstaking completed by hand in vibrant colors. (The Rabari men are known for dressing in all white, while the women dress very colorfully.) NOTE: This listing is for the CRIMSON (red) top. There are three tops in total, available in different colorways: JADE, INDIGO, CRIMSON. Each one is available in my shop. The embroidery in each top is unique, as described below. All of them were found without the original tie closure, so they have been modified with the covered elastic back strap; the strap attaches to the top with hidden hook/eye closures. The tops vary somewhat in their measurements but note that they will best fit a petite frame; the elastic back does offer some flexibility as it stretches. The arm openings are on the small side, especially at the binding, but on all tops they get roomier at the top towards the shoulder. CRIMSON: This is the oldest top of these three, dating to the early 20th Century. It is mainly a rich red, with indigo patches...
