Evening Couture coat in silver lamé by Germaine Lecomte N°03871 Paris Circa 1930

Circa 1930 France Beautiful evening coat in blue lamé silver silk branded by Germaine Lecomte, famous Parisian House and dating from the 1930s. Straight cut without collar in yoke in triangles giving fullness to the bottom of the coat. Straight half-balloon sleeves tightened at the cuffs. Superb silver lamé on a blue background decorated with stripes and volutes in the Persian and orientalist taste. Lining in electric blue velvet. White label, black graphic Germaine Lecomte Paris numbered 03871. Bolduc under label indicating Mme Déon n ° 55.229, probably corresponding to the order of this client. No flaws and beautiful quality of fabric and stitching made by hand by a great French House. Excellent condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: equivalent size 40 France. Height 117 cm, shoulders 38 cm, sleeves 61 cm, chest 104 cm, hips 120 cm, bottom circumference of the coat 200 cm. Renowned as a Fashion Sculptor, Germaine Lecomte created her house in Paris in 1926 and competed with the greatest French houses of the interwar period, including Jean Patou, Nina Ricci and Madeleine Vionnet. In 1942, she moved to 9 avenue Matignon then opened a branch in Biarritz like many of her sisters. Germaine Lecomte is famous all over the world and dresses many artists of the time. The house closed in 1957.
