About

Circa 1920 England Amazing evening cape in the Djellaba spirit in black Duchesse satin silk by Liberty and Co dating from the years 1920 - 1930. Cape with small slashed sleeves and pompoms of silk trimmings to pass the arms. Beautiful black duchess satin also lined in the same fabric and surronded with Chinese floral embroidery in the same color. Embroidery identical to shawls said Manila. Closure of the cape at the front by hook and black cord ending with black pompoms matching those of the sleeves. This cape corresponds exactly to the orientalist spirit of the 1920s, of which Liberty and Co was a representative with Madame Babani and Madame Gallenga in Paris and Mariano Fortuny in Venice. Label black background black graphic Liberty and Co London & Paris. Perfect condition of color and conservation. Dimensions: Front height 132 cm Back height 115 cm Shoulders 34 cm Collar 33 cm Chest 95 cm Circumference of the cape 585 cm Sleeves 25 cm and 18 cm of pompoms
