About

The breathtaking Andree Gay tropical-floral and butterfly print used for this 1930's silk-rayon gown has a fresh innocence that I find irresistible. The bodice is a low-cut plunge halter with seductive cut-out mid section. It falls into an hourglass waist where it breaks into an extremely flattering ruched design. The piece work to create the skirting in particular is extraordinary -it skims the body and then flares out in a back fishtail train. The stylized charm of the silhouette personify the feminine ideal in clothing. It is amazing that a dress with this amount of detail and presence can literally feel almost weightless but it does. Perfect for any summer event!

Measurements

This vintage Andree Gay gown is in excellent wearable condition with no noticeable rips, holes or age-rot. Perfectly working back metal-zipper. Only sign of wear is faint discoloration which blends into the print. Please message for additional pictures. This item is over 70 years old and is truly stunning!
