Vintage 1970's Ossie Clark for Radley Pink Celia Birtwell Print Crepe Dress Set

About the Item

A gorgeous Celia Birtwell print silk-crepe Ossie Clark for Radley ensemble that is both timeless and chic. Radley was a British clothing manufacturing company of the 1960's through the early 1980's. The main designer for the company, Raymond "Ossie: Clark, was a leading light in the London swinging sixties fashion era and is now renowned for his romantic flowing dresses. Ossie Clark vintage clothing is rare, unique and highly collectible. One of the best things about Ossie Clark pieces come from his collaboration with the great Celia Birtwell. She created all of his prints and the combination of her use of color and his use of cut was magical. The blouse is an elegant flutter-sleeve drape with tons of buttons adoring each side. This detail adds so much depth and texture to the ensemble. I love the matching hourglass nipped-waist swing skirt which is extremely figure flattering. With this set you have one complete outfit or two amazing separates. Ossie Clark’s designs, especially those made in Celia Birtwell’s prints, are right in step with 21st-century style. His genius comes from his ability to borrow from the past but capture the spirit of the now, creating timeless designs with a strong sense of place. In Judith Watt’s book, Ossie Clark: 1965–1974, Anna Sui explains, "He dressed the woman we all wanted to be: the rock star’s girlfriend." So as long as there is rock, Clark’s look is one that won’t fall from style. Measurements Blouse Bust: 35-36 inches Total Length:25 inches Skirt Waist:26 inches Hips: Free Sweep Total Length:30 inches This vintage Radley ensemble, dating back to 1976-77, is in excellent condition with no rips or holes. The blouse slips over the head with covered-buttons. The matching skirt has a perfectly working side-zipper. This set is over 40 years old and is truly stunning.

  • Vintage 1967 Courreges Couture Yellow White Checkered Wool Belted Jacket & Skirt
    By André Courrèges
    Located in Beverly Hills, CA
Gorgeous and iconic Andre Courreges Paris ensemble dating back to his 1967 couture collection. Andre Courreges launched his Space-Age look in 1964. The shapes of his clothes were geometric: squares, trapezoids, triangles. The main features of his ultra-modern, uncluttered look spread quickly throughout the fashion world, especially the miniskirt, which he introduced to France. This stunning yellow and ivory-white checkered wool two-piece is a fantastic example of his vision. The fitted jacket has a flirty low-cut plunge and bold waist belt. My favorite part is the over-sized breast pockets which is a signature Courreges touch. The high waisted a-line mod skirt is a statement piece in it's own right; definitely flattering the figure. "The woman who interests me doesn't belong to any particular physical type. She lives a certain life, however. She is active, moves fast, works, is usually young and modern enough to wear modern, intelligent clothes." Andre Courreges Measurements Jacket Bust: 36-37 inches Waist: up to 31 inches (belt used to make as small as desired) Sleeve Length: 21.5 inches Total Length: 22 inches Skirt Waist: 29 inches Hips: 40 inches Total Length: 23 inches This iconic first-edition Courreges numbered couture checkered skirt...
